Get more out of your race medal with Medal Monday
The day after WRRC (World Road Running Championships) 2026, Copenhagen continues the celebration. Medal Monday invites all runners who completed the race to enjoy one more day of recognition and get a little extra out of their medal.
On Monday 21 September, the medal becomes a pass to special experiences across the city. When worn visibly, it grants access to exclusive benefits at participating venues. This might include a complimentary coffee at a café, a special menu at a restaurant, a discount in a sports shop, entry to an exhibition or a small sweet treat after lunch. Each experience is designed to extend the running celebration and offer a chance to mark the victory for one more day.
Copenhagen is filled with running energy throughout the championship week, but Medal Monday is the moment when the medal continues to open doors and the city acknowledges the journey and everything runners have put into the race.
On Medal Monday, runners can enjoy experiences and special offers including:
- Copenhagen Coffee Lab – Get 50% off coffee, tea and matcha at all three Copenhagen cafés (excluding the two airport locations) when showing your medal.
- OLIOLI – Receive 50% off all Regular Standard Poké Bowls when presenting your medal.
- Tivoli Gardens – Enjoy 20% off admission and ride passes, or 15% off admission only.
- Meyers – From 10 to 12 May, receive 15% off at selected Meyers restaurants and bakeries when showing your medal. Participating restaurants include Brasserie Post, SULT & Filmtaget at the Danish Film Institute and Fasangården in Frederiksberg Have. The offer also applies at Meyers bakeries on Classensgade, Jægersborggade, Amagerbrogade and Nørrebrogade.
- Plogging – Join Sparta's community clean-up on Monday 21 September and help leave the championship area as clean as it was before the event. Meet outside Sparta's clubhouse at Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 11. Equipment, including litter pickers, bags and gloves, is provided. The activity finishes at 10:45, and participants are treated to coffee and a croissant afterwards.
- Swap Spot – Give unwanted sportswear, shoes and equipment a second life at Sparta's free swap initiative. Browse items left behind after running events or bring your own gear to exchange. Swap Spot takes place outside Sparta's Clubhouse on Østerbro from Monday 21 September to Wednesday 23 September at 11:00.
Medal Monday allows the post-race glow to linger a little longer and gives runners a bit more value from their medal before everyday life resumes.
