Transportation to and from the cruise terminals

Copenhagen has three cruise terminals: Langelinie, Nordre Toldbod and Ocean Quay. Here you will find useful information on how to get to and from the three cruise terminals in order to reach Copenhagen Airport, Copenhagen Central Station and Copenhagen City Center.

To and from Ocean Quay

Copenhagen Airport
  • Take bus 25 from the bus stop Oceankaj towards Nørreport Station. Get off at Nørreport Station and take the metro to Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approx. 40 minutes.
  • You can also take bus 27 from the bus stop Oceankaj towards Østerport Station. Then take the regional train to Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approx. 50 minutes. 
  • You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approx. 475 DKK during week days and approx. 575 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 40 minutes. 
Copenhagen Central Station
  • Take bus 27 from the bus stop Oceankaj to Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at København H. (Copenhagen Central Station). The duration of the trip is approx. 30 minutes. 
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approx. 300 DKK on week days and approx. 350 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 30 minutes.  
Copenhagen City Center
  • When going to Copenhagen City Center, you can either choose to go to Copenhagen Central Station (directions can be found above) or Nørreport.
  • Nørreport can be reached by taking bus number 25 from the bus stop at Ocean Quay, which goes directly to Nørreport Station. You can also take bus number 27 to Østerport Station and then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station.
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi to Kongens Nytorv: the trip will cost approx. 250 DKK on week days and approx. 275 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 20 minutes.  
Purchase tickets for public transportation
  • You can purchase tickets on-board the bus with Danish cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Tickets can be purchased from the tourist information, from a ticket machine and in a souvenir shop all located at Ocean Quay. 
  • Alternatively, you can download the app "Mobilbilletter" and purchase local tickets for in and around Copenhagen. Choose English as the language in the app. The app is available for iPhone and Android.
Cruise Shuttle bus from Ocean Quay to: A) Copenhagen Airport (terminal 2 & 3) / B) Copenhagen city center (Tivoli Gardens) and Copenhagen Airport (terminal 2 & 3)
  • Ticket A) Take the Cruise Shuttle that departs from Ocean Quay at terminal 1 to Tivoli Gardens/City Center and visit Copenhagen, while Airluggage stores your luggage at the airport. When you have visited Copenhagen, then take the Cruise Shuttle to Copenhagen Airport and pick up your luggage. In this way, you can explore Copenhagen without carrying your luggage. 
  • Ticket B) Take the Cruise Shuttle that departs from Ocean Quay at terminal 1 directly to Copenhagen Airport (terminal 2 & 3). 
  • The price for Ticket A is 37 $ / 30 € (1-4 persons) or 31 $ / 25 € (5-15 persons) and the price for Ticket B is 18 $ / 15 € per person.
  • Tickets can be purchased with cash in DKK, Euro or USD in the bus. 
  • Please note, that you can only pre-book tickets if you are a party of 10 people or more. Otherwise, it is a "walk-in service" (first come, first go).

To and from Langelinie

Copenhagen Airport
  • Take bus 26 from the bus stop Indiakaj and get off at Kongens Nytorv. Then take the Metro line M2 towards Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approx. 40 minutes. 
  • You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approx. 450 DKK on week days and approx. 550 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 35 minutes.
Copenhagen Central station
  • Take bus 26 from the bus stop Indiakaj and get off at Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at København H. (Copenhagen Central Station). The duration of the trip is approx. 20 minutes. 
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approx. 225 DKK and 275 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 20 minutes. 
Copenhagen City Center
  • When going to Copenhagen City Center, you can either choose to go to Copenhagen Central Station (directions can be found above) or Nørreport.
  • Nørreport can be reached by taking bus 26 from Indiakaj to Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station. The duration of the trip is approx. 15 min.
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK
  • You can also choose to take a Hop on Hop off bus that stops at Langelinie. The Hop on Hop off bus stops at among others Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli etc. The price is 195 DKK.
  • Taxi to Kongens Nytorv: the trip costs approx. 150 DKK on week days and 175 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is 15 minutes. 
Purchase tickets
  • You can purchase tickets onboard the bus with Danish cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Walk to Østerport Station and purchase your tickets. Credit cards as well as cash are accepted.
  • Alternatively, you can download the app "Mobilbilletter" and purchase local tickets for in and around Copenhagen. Choose English as the language in the app. The app is available for iPhone and Android.

 

To and from Nordre Toldbod

Copenhagen Airport
  • Walk 10 minutes to Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) and take bus 1A towards Avedøre St. to Kongens Nytorv. Then take the Metro line towards Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approx. 40 minutes.
  • You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trips costs approx. 400 DKK on week days and 525 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is 30 minutes. 
Copenhagen Central Station
  • Walk 10 minutes to Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) and take bus 1A towards Avedøre Station and get off at Hovedbanegården (Tietgensgade). The duration of the trip is approx. 30 minutes.
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip costs approx. 200 DKK on week days and 250 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is 20 minutes. 
Copenhagen City Center
  • When going to Copenhagen City Center, you can either choose to go to Copenhagen Central Station (directions can be found above) or Nørreport.
  • Nørreport can be reached by taking bus 1A from Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) towards Avedøre Station and get off at Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station.
  • You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • You can also walk to Langelinie and take a Hop on Hop off bus, that among others stops at Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli etc. The price is 195 DKK. Read more about the Hop on Hop off bus here.
  • You are already in the city center, but if you do not want to walk, a taxi to e.g. Nørreport will cost approx. 175 DKK on week days and 200 DKK in the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approx. 10 minutes.

  • Walk to Østerport Station and purchase your tickets. Credit cards as well as cash are accepted.

Get free public transportation with a Copenhagen Card

Where to park your car before commencing your cruise

Ocean Quay

It it is possible to use the public car park located approx. 50-100 metres from the ships. There is room for approx. 200 cars, and you have to pay. No advance reservation is possible. Prices:

08:00 - 16:00: DKK 16 per hour
16:00 - 08:00: DKK 8 per hour
Maximum DKK 80 per day (calendar days 00-24) or DKK 560 per week.

Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod

Unfortunately, there is no long-term parking at Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod. If you are boarding your cruise ship here, the nearest indoor car park is in Dronningens Tværgade 4, 1302 Copenhagen. Price: DKK 320 per day.
