Royal Arena

Experience some of Copenhagen’s biggest concerts and sports events at Royal Arena

Royal Arena is Copenhagen’s new, multi-purpose arena that hosts both sports, music and cultural events. With its scalable construction, Royal Arena can accommodate up to 16,000 guests and houses everything from grand concerts to world championships.

Royal Arena is located in Copenhagen’s new urban district Ørestad, which covers five kilometres between the city centre and the airport. The area alone is an architectural experience, and its modern design is a striking contrast to the city centre’s cobbled streets. Ørestad is divided into four neighbourhoods, and you will find Royal Arena in Ørestad South.

Danish architecture firm 3XN is behind the design of Royal Arena, which expresses the Scandinavian design tradition that values quality and functionality. The arena is not just a new venue but contributes to the urbanization of Ørestad by incorporating the adjoining neighbourhood.

The arena is based on a unique podium that links to the surrounding area, and small public plazas encourage visitors and locals to visit, even when the building is not in use.
