Café Spirrevippen

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the beautiful premises of the Museum of Copenhagen, you will find Café Spirrevippen. Here you can relax with a really good coffee or settle your appetite, even if you don't necessarily have a museum visit on the agenda.

With high ceilings, parquet floors and large windows overlooking the charming old Copenhagen apartments in the city centre, Café Spirrevippen invites museum visitors and locals alike to enjoy great coffee and homemade sweets. The café also has a lovely little oasis of a courtyard garden where you can soak up the sunshine with the city's vibrant life as soft background music. Despite being next door to one of Copenhagen's busiest addresses, there is a very special calm inside. Spirrevippen is a real family business, as it is run by mother and son, Louise and Emil, and the small team makes a great virtue of creating a good and cosy atmosphere.

The menu offers both breakfast and lunch, as well as really good coffee from Copenhagen Coffee Lab, which is best enjoyed in accompaniment with one of the café's homemade pastries.

Although Café Spirrevippen is located in the carefully restored premises of the Museum of Copenhagen, you don't need to buy a ticket to the museum to visit the cosy café.
