Café Blågårds Apotek
Café Blågårds Apotek, popularly known as "Kroteket", is located at one of the corners of Blågårdsgade.
The café is a pretty special place, very local and very welcoming. All sorts of people meet up here for live music, a draught beer and a good spot in the sun by Blågårds Plads.
Café Blågårds Apotek used to be a pharmacy, which you can still tell if you look closely enough. The old pharmacist’s desk is still standing, though it has been transformed into an old-school bar.
Today, the Café Blågårds Apotek is a non-profit contribution to the local environment, and an open space for musical, cultural and social events. The café hosts concerts, jazz-jams and songwriters, and it even has its own gallery with local artists that shifts every month.
Besides music and art, the café also makes room for political discussions and debates about social problems. The foundation that owns the café is very concerned with humanity and respect for the local environment – that’s why they donate all the profit from Café Blågårds Apotek to enhancing the area around Blågårdsgade.
So when visiting to the café, you can get lots of cultural inputs, interesting talks and enjoy your beer with a clear conscience.
