Bellevue Design & Architecture Festival celebrates the 90th anniversary of Bellevue Teatret, one of Denmark’s most iconic examples of modernist architecture designed by Arne Jacobsen.
The festival takes over Bellevue Teatret and the surrounding White City in Klampenborg with a packed programme of talks, exhibitions, guided tours, performances and creative experiences. Visitors can explore architecture, design and craftsmanship through everything from architecture talks and guided tours of Arne Jacobsen’s White City to jazz lounges, modern dance performances and morning yoga by the coast.
A festival highlight is the exhibition of 50 reinterpretations of Jacobsen’s iconic Egg Chair, redesigned by artist Tal R. Families can also enjoy a sensory trail and creative activities inspired by Jacobsen’s work, while food lovers can take a break with traditional Danish smørrebrød and evening talks accompanied by mocktails and cocktails.
Set between Bellevue Beach and the historic woodland of Dyrehaven, the festival offers a unique opportunity to experience Danish design heritage in the very surroundings where it was created.
