The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail runs outside central Copenhagen and connects a number of towns in the metropolitan area, with convenient transfers to S-trains and buses to and from Copenhagen and the rest of the region.
Until the summer of 2026 the Light Rail operates between Ishøj Municipality and Rødovre Municipality. From the summer of 2026 the line will be extended so that the Light Rail runs all the way between Ishøj and Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, with departures every 5 minutes during daytime hours.
Trains run every 10 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and from 6 a.m. to midnight on weekends. Bicycles can be brought on board free of charge.
All stations are equipped with elevators, information screens and announcements in Danish and English.
