The Little Mermaid

Inspired by the beautiful fairy tale of the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, Edvard Eriksen created this unique sculpture of The Little Mermaid back in 1913, by the waterfront at Langelinie Pier. The Little Mermaid has been rising from the ocean every morning for more than 100 years, scouting yearningly from a rock for her prince for more than 100 years.

Accessibility at the Little Mermaid:

The Little Mermaid is accessible by wheelchair and can be reached by a flat boardwalk right next to the Kastellet.
