Copenhagen Golf Club
In peaceful, green surroundings close to the bustle of the city lies Copenhagen Golf Club, the first golf club in Scandinavia.
Copenhagen Golf Club is located in Kongens Lyngby, just outside Copenhagen – close to the city, yet surrounded by peaceful, scenic, and idyllic natural surroundings. The club holds a special place in history as Scandinavia’s first golf club, founded on December 6, 1898. In the early years, members played at Lammefælleden near Vibenshus Runddel in Copenhagen, where they would dig the holes themselves in the morning and cover them again in the evening after playing. Later, the club secured a lease near the Hermitage Palace in Dyrehaven, where a 9-hole course was established. In 1928, Copenhagen Golf Club went on to create Denmark’s first 18-hole golf course. The course is designed in a traditional English style, featuring narrow fairways, thick rough, and firm greens.
The clubhouse, beautifully situated among forests and green areas, is home to the club's restaurant, which emphasizes the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. After a round of golf, guests can enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious meal on the club’s terrace.
