The Beach Park
At Køge Bay in Ishøj, just a train ride from the center of Copenhagen, you'll find beautiful natural surroundings, cultural experiences and a lovely sandy beach.
Do you miss the beach, water and nature? Then you can visit The Beach Park by Køge Bay in Ishøj, which is just a train ride away from the center of Copenhagen. The Beach Park was inaugurated in 1980. Today it is a scenic area where you can experience a rich animal and plant life, white sandy beaches, dunes, lakes, meadows, pastures and small wooded areas. In The Beach Park you can also enjoy Ishøj Beach, which stretches over a coastline of seven kilometers. The beach offers sand and dune landscapes that create the ideal setting for relaxation.
The Beach Park is not only home to the lovely beach, but also Ishøj Harbour, ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art, Tangloppen Camping, and various cafés and kiosks. In short: There is potential for an eventful trip if you visit The Beach Park. In addition to offering both cultural experiences and opportunities for beach and sunbathing, the area also serves as flood protection for the low-lying urban areas near the coast. If the weather is not inviting for relaxing by the water's edge or in one of the undisturbed 'pots' in the dunes, the area is also perfect for a walk, jog or bike ride, where you can experience the beautiful natural surroundings and rich bird and animal life. It is also possible to see the beautiful nature from the water – you can rent paddleboards at Café Ka'nalu, located by Ishøj Beach.
