At Mes, the raw, urban vibe meet intimacy and the natural as soon as you enter the door at the bustling Jarmers Plads. Outside, traffic and busy people are rushing by, while inside there’s a calm sense of intimacy to the 27 seats restaurant with a slightly raw, industrial setting mixed with a lush, green moss-covered end wall.

The same kind of contrasts go again in the menu. On the plate you’ll find natural, seasonal and crisp ingredients mixed with creatively cooked elements such as slow-poached egg yolks and pulverized malt.

The atmosphere at Mes is loose and comfy, yet they are not afraid to let a hip hop soundtrack work as a surprisingly well-matched backdrop to the whole experience.

A five course menu costs 350 DKK and a wine pairing about the same.
