Trelleborg Viking Fortress

One of the places where the Vikings can be experienced at close quarters, is at Trelleborg near Slagelse on Sealand, an hour's drive south from Copenhagen. Here you will find a 1,000 year old Viking castle.

In a scenic area you will find the remains of one of the Vikings' big castles, built around the year 980 AD.

Vikings at the museum

At the museum you can see some of the many discoveries that were made ​​during the excavation and learn more about the castle and its function. Film, models, archaeological finds and reconstructions will give you a vivid impression of Trelleborg's history.

Throughout the year the museum hosts a variety of shows and activities where you can walk in the footsteps of the Vikings.
