Whether you choose to rent a car or drive your own, there are some important things to know about parking in Copenhagen.

There are four parking zones in Copenhagen, a red, green, blue and yellow zone. The closer you get to the city centre, the more expensive it is.

This is the basic information you need, when parking in Copenhagen. For further information and a map of the parking zones, see the municipality's parking information page.

Frederiksberg has its own purple parking zone, where you can park for free for two hours between 07:00-24:00 and 07:00-17:00 on Saturdays. Outside these timeframes and on holidays, parking is free of charge in Frederiksberg.

Parking zones and prices

In Copenhagen's four parking zones, you have to pay parking fees between Monday 08:00 until Saturday 17:00. 


*If parking for more than two hours in Frederiksberg, you'll need to pay. The prices after two hours are:
1 hour: DKK 10 | 2 hours: DKK 25 | 3 hours: DKK 45 | 4 hours: DKK 65 | Day ticket: DKK 75 | Week ticket: DKK 360

Car parks

There are also big car parks to choose from. Signs at the major roads lead into major multi-story car parks in Copenhagen.
