In this edition, Kasper Hostrup of GOODS recommends some of his favorite shops around Copenhagen. Kasper, 37, is the owner of GOODS, a men’s fashion store on Østerbro, where he carries a personally curated selection of brands together with his own designs and collabs, that also go under the name GOODS.
Being born and raised in the North West quarter of Copenhagen, Kasper caries a deep love for the city. Finding himself embarking on his third decade of working in the design and clothing industry, he’s convinced that Copenhagen has an edge that few cities in the world matches when it comes to quality and design.
“Copenhagen has more unique and independent shops per capita than most other metropoles. We’re also known for our aesthetics and attention to detail that you not only find in architecture, food and design but especially in the way that these independent shops curate their selections.”
Kasper compares his work to the one of a museum curator. In GOODS he strives to create a unique universe of bespoke designs and products from around the world, that cannot be duplicated. Also, he wants him and his staff to exude knowledge and passion about their craft and the city, without it seeming like a lecture. These kinds of extraordinary spaces are also what he looks for, when discovering new favorite spots in Copenhagen.
“I’m drawn to the places where I can see, that there’s been taken attention to every single detail.”
