The Danish Museum of Science and Technology

Explore the history of our industrial society from handicrafts to robot technology

At The Danish Museum of Science and Technology, you can take a trip back in time and follow the fast evolution of machines and technology. No matter if you’re seven years old and fascinated with trains or have a nerdy interest in robots, this museum is a treasure case ready to open.

The exhibitions include many impressive retro airplanes and vehicles, and you can even admire the oldest car in the world that still drives. In the collection you’ll also find the tools that world-famous Danish scientist H. C. Ørsted used to discover electromagnetism in 1820.

Many of the items in the exhibition are interactive, so kids (or adults) get the full experience of the old gems. During school holidays and weekends, the museum hosts lots of activities where you can try to build a motor or programme a robot – how cool is that, right?

The Danish Museum of Science and Technology is located in Elsinore, 20 minutes by train from Copenhagen Central Station. If you take the trip, there are lots of other great places to visit in Elsinore, just check out this guide.
