Copenhagen City Bike

The City Bike is synonymous with Copenhagen. In fact, the official gift from The City of Copenhagen to American president Bill Clinton, when he visited Copenhagen in 1997, was a specially designed city bike called 'City Bike One'.

The City Bike is world famous, and many visitors as well as Copenhageners use it as a quick and free alternative to cars, buses and taxis, when getting around Copenhagen.

The popular free bicycle sharing scheme was the first of its kind and has been since exported to other major cities in Europe.

The city bikes are usually on the streets from mid April to mid November. However the City of Copenhagen has not found funding for the bikes in 2013.
