One of the best ways to really get close to the sights is by joining a guided bicycle tour. Gliding through the traffic is safe and relaxing, there are no hills to contend with, and the distances in the inner city are very reasonable.
Bike Copenhagen with Mike
Hop on the bike with Mike as he takes you along the high roads, low roads, in-roads and off-roads of Copenhagen. Choose between the City Tour, the Nordic Light Tour (Summer only) and the Countryside Tour (Summer only). The City Tour takes three hours and departs in June, July and August, daily at 10:00 and 14:00 (Sundays only at 10:00) and in April, May and September - December, daily at 10:00. Just show up at Copenhagen Bikes - next to Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Gardens. All tours are in English. City Tour costs DKK 150 or 20 Euro. Price does not include bike rental, which is an additional DKK 75 for 24 hours. You are also free to bring your own bike.
City Safari
Guided tours for individuals and groups on bikes. Theme tours may include Historical Copenhagen, Around Carlsberg, Modern Architecture, In Hans Christian Andersen's Footsteps or Copenhagen by Night. For detailed information check website.
Flying Tigers
If you prefer others to do the work, you can try a ride in a rickshaw with room for up to three persons (if you are slim. Two persons is the ideal). The Flying Tigers offers various routes through the old part of Copenhagen or you can choose your own route. One hour costs DKK 330 plus a DKK 50 booking fee.
Hotel Bikes
At 90 percent of the Copenhagen Hotels, bicycles are available for rent through Copenhagen Tours. Price for one day is DKK 100. You have to leave a DKK 500 deposit, which you get back when you return the bike. Copenhagen Tours also offers guided bicycle tours daily at 10:15 am from Vodrofsvej 55 B.
Free City Bikes
It can also be great fun to see Copenhagen on a free City Bike. These are available in numerous bike stands within the Copenhagen city area. Note that the use of the free city bikes is limited to central Copenhagen and only between 1 May and 15 December.
