Falkoner Biografen stoleIf the rain is pouring down outside, seek refuge in the cinema seats with a good film and some popcorn. In Denmark, foreign films are seldom dubbed, so you can enjoy all films in their original languages. Only films specifically aimed at a child audience will ocasionally be dubbed with Danish voices. 

Grand Teatret 

With a history dating back to 1923, Grand Teatret in Copenhagen is one of the city's oldest and most traditional cinemas. Its specialty is quality films with an emphasis on European - and especially French films.

Dagmar Teatret 

The range of films in Dagmar Teatret is typically aimed at a mature, adult audience, like in Grand Teatret. Dagmar has existed since 1883 when it opened as a real theatre, but since 1939 it has been a cinema.

Falkoner BiografenFalkoner Biograf 

Falkoner Biograf in the district of Frederiksberg is one of Copenahgen's newest cinemas. Attemtion has been paid to details, and everything is new and modern. Primarily Danish and American blockbusters are shown here.

Imperial

Copenhagen's largest cinema, Imperial, has room for approximately 1,100 cinema-goers. The quality of sound and comfort is at the very top, and many films premiere here. Emphasis is mainly on Danish and American action films. 

Empire Bio

Empire Bio in the district of Nørrebro has luxury seats with dual armrests and plenty of legroom. The rear row in each of the four cinemas have large double seats. Primarily Danish and American blockbuster films are shown here.

Metropol biografMetropol

Metropol cinema near City Hall is one of Copenhagen's most traditional cinemas. Formerly called Palladium, it has been extensively renovated and has Danish and American blockbuster films on the programme.

Cinemateket - The Danish Film Institute

Cinemateket is The Danish Film Institute's cinema. Here you can catch a broad selection of classical and art films, among others short films, documentaries and graduation films from The National Film School of Denmark. Cinemateket often puts emphasis on a specific theme or film genre, which changes monthly.
