Underwood Ink
Underwood Ink is one of Copenhagen's newest book cafes located in the district of Nørrebro, a stone's throw from the Lakes.
The place is more a bar than a cafe and offers in addition to tea, coffee, beer and wine also a Danish and southern European inspired menu. Underwood Ink is named after Hemmingway's preferred typewriter brand and is open to two o'clock at night Thursday to Saturday.
The books are mainly in English, but also Danish books from small publishers. In addition, the book bar has four annual art exhibitions.
The Laundromat Cafe
You can fnd The Laundromat Cafe in the districts of Nørrebro
and Østerbro
. The concept is unique. Here you can combine coffee with laundry. In the laundry you find four environmental friendly washing machines and two dryers.
The price for a wash includes soap, and while your laundry is spinning, you can cozy up with one of the cafés 4,000 books or some of the many Danish and international magazines.
The café also offers homemade food, coffee and drinks, and you can also see young artists' works exhibited.
Paludan Cafe
In the heart of the old city, close to the University and the Cathedral, neighbouring Holberg's home and just accross from the University Library, you find a café, second hand book store and a modern book store all in one.
With subdued classical music or jazz in the background, you can browse through the latest books while having your breakfast, a sandwich, a delicious sweet or some Valrhona hot chocolate.
Chester's Book Cafe
Chester's Book Café in the district of Christianshavn is a universe of books, coffee and cakes. Here you are free to leaf through the old and new books, before purchasing them. The staff is competent and knowledgeable when it comes to literature, and the bar tempts you with coffee and fresh baked cakes.
In Chester's Book Cafe you can also find Copenhagen's only children book cafe with a playhouse and toys, and some soft comfortable sofas, where you can relax, read, breastfeed or take a nap while the kids play.
The French Book Cafe
In central Copenhagen there is a small French café and bookstore, where you can get warm with a cup of Chocolat Chaud and have a croissant while reading Balzac or leaf through the day's edition of Libération.
In the café 60 percent of the guests are Danish, and the rest come from French speaking countries. Cécile Black has been strongly inspired by Paris, where she grew up.

Rayuela
Beans and books in Spanish. That is what you get at Rayuela, a Spanish and South American book cafe and delicatessen in the district of Nørrebro. Owner Elena has named the café, deli and bookstore after a novel by Argentine writer Julio Cortázar.
The books are all written by Spanish-speaking writers or translated into Spanish. In the cafe you can enjoy, coffee, maté, brewed on dryed leaves from the yerba maté, Spanish sandwiches and tapas.
Baresso in Arnold Busck
Baresso Coffee is on the second floor of the great Arnold Busck bookstore in one of Copenhagen's largest shopping streets.
The cafe offers all kinds of coffee, cakes and sandwiches and a selection of books to browse while you watch the people in the street.
Baresso Coffee is a large coffee chain similar to American Starbucks, and thus you will find many Baressos throughout Copenhagen. The international bookstore has a large selection of both Danish and English books, textbooks, professional and children's books.
