You can sail in ancient boats, swing an Iron Age hatchet, make flour, meet the animals and shoot with bow and arrow. In the workshops the kids can also see how ancient handcraft was made.

Vikingeskibsmuseet barnThe Viking Ship Museum
Children of all ages have heard of the Vikings! At the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde west of Copenhagen they can experience the Vikings and their ships at close hand. Special activities are arranged during school holidays and weekends. Two life-size models of Viking ships are moored at the jetty in the Viking Ship Hall. They are based on the original ships on display in the hall, and they are laden with Viking goods and equipment, so the kids can feel the atmosphere of the Viking Age, while they try on Viking clothes woven and dyed using the same techniques as the Vikings.
