The Odd Fellow Manor
was originally built in 1752-55 as the stately private home of a noble family, it has been known under the name of Schimmelmann's Manor and later became the residence of the Odd Fellow Lodge of Copenhagen. Since 1884 the Manor has played an important role in Danish music life.
The Danish composer Carl Nielsen
Its concert hall was famous under the leadership of the Danish composer Carl Nielsen. Unfortunately this part of the building suffered a fire in 1992 where the concert hall was completely destroyed.
Unique acoustic conditions
Like the myth about Phoenix there emerged from the ashes a restored building where today in clasically beautiful surroundings and atmosphere concerts are performed. Soloists and ensembles all agree about the unique acoustics. Because of the exceptionally fine acoustic conditions recordings are often made here, and the Manor has an agreement with Bach Recording situated very close in the same street.
Located near the Kongens Nytorv The Manor is situated in downtown Copenhagen, very near the Kongens Nytorv, it has easy access with public transportation and especially in the evenings and weekends, parking space can be found. |
