Train from Kastrup, the airport, to Central Station in 12 minutes

LufthavnenCopenhagen is the capital in Europe with the shortest distance from an international airport to the city centre.

Beneath Terminal 3, which is where you arrive and pass through customs, there is a train station. From here you have a twelve minute train ride to Central Station in Copenhagen - in Danish called Hovebanegården. During the day these trains run regularly every ten minutes.

Train fare or CPHCARD
Tickets are bought at the ticket counter in Terminal 3 just before going down the stairs, by elevator or escalator to the station platform below - the fare is DKK 27, if you have Danish change, you can draw them in a ticket machine.

There is, however, also the possibility of purchasing a CPHCARD, which you can use during your stay. In addition to free entrance to 60 attractions and discounts, this card gives you free transportation in the Greater Copenhagen area including to and from the airport.

Take the Metro - only 15 minutes to city centreMetro lufthavn
The Copenhagen Metro opened a new stretch between the airport and city centre in September 2007 - to the benefit of both visitors and copenhageners. It only takes 15 minutes to get from the airport to Kongens Nytorv in the heart of Copenhagen, but off course you can get off at a number of stations, like Christianshavn or Nørreport, or you can continue to the final stop, Vanløse.

The Metro station is located at the end of Terminal 3 and is covered by the roof of the terminal. The Metro operates at four - six minutes' intervals during the day and evening hours and every 15 minutes during the night. The Metro operates from 5am until midnight. Thurday - Sunday the Metro operates round the clock.

Metro tickets or CPHCARD
Tickets for the Metro are available at the Metro station and at the DSB ticket sales counter in Terminal 3. Please note that the ticket machines do not accept notes, only coins and cards such as the Dankort, VISA, etc. If you purchase a CPHCARD it also gives you free transportation on the Metro.
