Trafik kgs nytorv, Michael HoltermannIt is easy to go to Copenhagen by car and it is even cheap, if you travel together with others. Depending on where you come from, here is how you get to Copenhagen by car.

From Funen and Jutland to Copenhagen

Arriving in Copenhagen from Funen (Fyn) and Jutland (Jylland), you will have to cross Storebæltsbroen (the Great Belt Bridge) to Sealand.

Øresundbroen solnedgangFrom Sweden, Norway, Finland and Poland

Driving to Copenhagen from Sweden, Norway or Finland, the fastest and shortest way is to cross the Øresund Bridge. You can read about prices and deals on the Øresund Bridge's website.

Copenhagen is linked to Norway and to Poland by direct ferry boat connections. Danish Seaways have a daily route from Copenhagen to Oslo, duration: 16 hours and Polferries sail to Swinoujscie from Copenhagen four times a week, duration approximately 12 hours.

Færge1Ferries from Sweden and Jutland

You can drive your car on board the ferry from Helsingborg in Sweden to Helsingør in Denmark. There are two ferry routes available, Scandlines og HH-Ferries.

Ferries sail almost the entire day, during day time approximately every half hour. It takes bout an hour to drive from Helsingør to Copenhagen.

From Jutland you can take your car on board the ferry, Mols-Linien, and sail either from Århus to Kalundborg or from Århus to Ebeltoft at Sjællands Ode. From both destinations it is about one and half hour's drive to Copenhagen.  

From Germany

At the southernmost tip of the Islands of Falster on the E47 leading down through Europe, there is a ferry boat connection at Rødby to Puttgarten in Northern Germany and from Gedser to Rostock, likewise in Northern Germany. Both routes are run by Scandlines.
