Pige på StrøgetStroll down Strøget

Oprah also had time to take a stroll down Strøget - the world's longest pedestrian street with a wealth of shops, ranging from budget-friendly chains to some of the world's most expensive designer shops. Strøget is 1.1 kilometers long and runs from City Hall Square to Kongens Nytorv. Oprah remained primarily in the area around Amagertorv.

Strøget is a nickname from the 1800s and covers the streets of Frederiksberggade, Nygade, Vimmelskaftet and Østergade as well as the squares Nytorv, Gammel Torv and Amagertorv.

Shopping in Georg Jensen

On Amagertorv on Strøget Oprah went into the Georg Jensen shop with ornaments and utensils of the world famous Danish silversmith Georg Jensen. Here you will find the gift for him or her, who has everything.

The shop has the finest candlesticks and bowls, dishes and the most beautiful jewelry, including the famous and popular Daisy collection.

Oprah Winfrey, Royal CafeLunch at The Royal Cafe

But Oprah was working, so there was not much time for shopping. She therefore continued next door to the Royal Copenhagen flagship store.

Here she interviewed a couple of Danish women at The Royal Café, while they ate the traditional Danish dish Burning love, consisting of mash potato covered with pieces of bacon and onions. Here, Oprah asked the women about why the Danes are the happiest people in the world. The reason for the Danes' happiness is:

"People feel safe and secure. I think the balance between family and work - we could take a few lessons there. What I love is there is no pressure to get married. There is such great security in terms of healthcare, in terms of keeping your job, in terms of knowing that if you lose your job, you are not going to be left out on the street. I think that this is a country that really, really loves and cares about its people. And it is so children centric. The fact that people leave their children outside at the cafes, so the children can get fresh air and you are not worried someone is going to steal your baby every second. I think that is a wonderful thing," said Oprah later to Danish newspaper B.T.
