Spring dance1In the green settings of Carlsberg's Academy Garden in Copenhagen the new open-air event of Danish Dance Theatre is taking place on four Saturday afternoons in May and June.

The contemporary dance is performed by internationally acclaimed dancers, and music performed by the PACE Percussion Trio. 

You can bring your kids and a picnic basket, because the dance performances are accompanied by garden walks and talks.

Walk and talk 

The dance performances take place on 22 and 29 May and again on 5 and 12 June. They start at 15:00 pm, but at 13:00 you can join a guided walking tour around the beautiful Carlsberg Academy Garden.

The guides are famous Danish actors, politicians and others, telling about their best cultural experiences. Come early - only 30 children can join each tour.

Established in 1981 the Danish Dance Theatre is one of the major forces in contemporary dance in Denmark. The British born Tim Rushton took over the artistic leadership in 2001. Under his direction, the company has gained an international presence and enjoyed acclaim throughout Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

The Danish Dance Theatre, Dansescenen and House of Dance work together in the setting of Carlsberg's old mineral water bottling factory in DANSEhallerne.

Tickets for Spring Dance are 75 DKK. Free admission for children up to 12 years old.
