Connie NielsenThe Danish actress, Connie Nielsen, was born in 1965 and already when she was 15-years-old she performed in her mother's cabaret. Barely 18, she moved to Paris to pursue her dream of acting, and the work led her to Rome, Milan and South Africa before reaching New York in 1993.

Connie Nielsen's debut in English movies came with the thriller Voyage. Hereafter many movies followed with co-stars Tommy Lee Jones in The Hunted, John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Basic, Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves in The Devil's Advocate, and Robin Williams in One Hour Photo.

In 2000, the busy Danish actress played the role as Princess Lucilla in Ridley Scott's Academy Award-winning Gladiator, where Russell Crowe played the male character Maximus. Connie Nielsen has been rewarded as Best Actress from the Danish Academy and at the San Sebastian Film Festival she won an award for her role in the Danish drama Brothers from 2004, instructed by Susanne Bier.

Besides being one of Denmark's greatest international actors, Connie Nielsen is a trained singer and dancer. Apart from Danish and English, she speaks Swedish, German, French, and Italian fluently.

Viggo Mortensen, Gitte Nielsen (Stallone) and Mads Mikkelsen are other Danish movie stars who have appeared in international films.
