The Bridge

The Danish-Swedish crime TV series The Bridge, with Saga Norén (Swedish Sofia Helin) and Martin Rohde (Danish Kim Bodnia) in the lead roles, has been successful beyond Danish and Swedish borders.

 

The TV series, which is about a dead body found on the Oresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden, has won international viewers galore and has rapidly been awarded with various TV prizes.

The Danish-Swedish cooperation has so far resulted in a TV Dagger Award for best television series in the crime and thriller genre as well as a Prix Europa for the best European television drama or serialized.

The team behind The Bridge has just started filming the second season of TV series, which is expected to appear on Danish DR and Swedish SVT at the end of 2013.

The Bridge is filmed in Copenhagen and Malmö, located on the other side of the Sound - just 25 minutes away by train from Copenhagen Central Station. Follow our guide to the film locations in the region.

Blågårdsgade is a side street to Nørrebrogade on vibrant inner Nørrebro.

In The Bridge we meet Muhammed and his son Saif - the owners of a greengrocer in Blågårdsgade.

The City Court of Copenhagen is the largest out of 24 city courts, and it serves a big part of Copenhagen Municipality as well as Dragør and Tårnby Municipality.

In the tv series Broen (The Bridge) the City Court is used for a trial against a policeman who allegedly abused a man to death.

The Øresund Bridge is a 16 km direct link between Denmark and Sweden.

It's also the place where it all starts in the tv series "The Bridge" when a body is found under the bridge between the two countries.
