Be sure to keep your eyes open, when you wander around Copenhagen. You might be surprised of what you find. Street art is common, and if you pay attention you will see peculiar drawings, political statements and strange stencils.
The artists are most active in Nørrebro and Vesterbro. Here you can find drawings of the well-know “HuskMitNavn” and impressive rooftop statements like "One man’s trash another man's treasure" by Spyo.
Street art is no longer just found in the streets, the artists are getting accepted by the established art scene and invited indoor to do exhibitions at places like V1Gallery.
Artists have been moving into galleries and studies ever since the 1990s. Today you can visit as many as 25 different artists in the street. The galleries are open the first Sunday of every month.
KØS is Denmark’s only museum of art in public spaces.
