Run for rock

05 Jul 2012

The time is now! This is what we’ve all been waiting for: The legendary gate 6 opens to the music area at the Roskilde Festival.

By Susanne Bendsen & Maria Odde

Thursday, at precisely 17:00, hundreds of happy people from the camp area break through the fence. Happy, dirty and full of expectations...

But why the crushing and pushing and waiting in line? We asked the crowd:

- Because it is simply cool to be in the front. We want to be the first when Kellermensch is playing!
This is what we’ve been waiting for since Saturday! Four young lads from Østerbro states.

- We could do with some music now. Besides, it’s a part of the Roskilde atmosphere standing in line, says Anna Jensen who has been at the Roskilde Festival three times.

- We want to get in where it isn’t that dusty, 19-year-old Amalie Randers laughs.
