Pam Ann's Copenhagen

Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a bumpy ride! We caught up with comedienne Pam Ann when she was in Copenhagen, which she absolutely loves, in November 2012 on her worldwide one-woman show Pam Ann Around the World. We asked her about Copenhagen. Here is what she said.

Why have you chosen Copenhagen for one of your shows?

I love the Danes, I have actually spent a lot of time in your country. I had a Danish boyfriend for years. I have sailed up your coastline, holidayed in Skagen, stayed in Frederikshavn, lived in Aarhus and holidayed in Copenhagen. Part of my heart is in Denmark.

Five words, things or the like that you associate with Copenhagen?

Princess Mary, backpacks, bikes, brown bread, Glögg.

Do you know any attractions/places in Copenhagen that you would recommend?

My ideal day in Copenhagen is to sit in your main square and watch all the Danes ride by ringing their bike bells. Danes are the attraction.

Your worst flight ever and why?

I have been on a scary SAS flight, let’s just say their planes are old, I thought the landing gear was going to fall off as we took off…well that’s what it sounded like.

Most embarrassing experience on a flight/in an airport?

When security asked me to remove my wedge! I thought they meant I had a wedgy (which is when your knickers or trousers are up your bum) but they meant my wedge heels.

What is your opinion on Copenhagen Airport and SAS if you have flown with them?

Well the Danes know a thing or two about design I think you’re all born with the design gene. Copenhagen and most Scandinavian airports are some of the best in the world. I love all the wood and attention to detail FLAWLESS.

SAS is a great airline - one of the most gay friendly airlines in the world, they even had the first gay marriage at 35,000ft. I just made a video for SAS which I will be showing on my tour. Pam Ann tries to get a job with SAS!

Explore Copenhagen at your own pace on a GPS-guided bike tour.

Only available in Copenhagen.

The City Hall Square is one of the main squares in Copenhagen.

Here people gather for demonstrations, to pay tribute to returning sports heroes, for big concerts and for out door exhibitions. Also an important bus traffic junction.

Copenhagen Airport is situated only eight kilometers outside of Copenhagen city centre. With 60,000 passengers a day it is the bussiest airport in Scandinavia. At the airport you have plenty of opportunities for tax free shopping and dinner and drinks before or after your flight. Transport from the airport to city centre is fast and easy by either bus, train, taxi or Metro.

The City Bike is world famous, and many visitors as well as Copenhageners use it as a quick and free alternative to cars, buses and taxis, when getting around Copenhagen.

The popular free bicycle sharing scheme was the first of its kind and has been since exported to other major cities in Europe. Unfortunately the City of Copenhagen has not found funding for the bikes in 2013.
