Hipsters' Copenhagen

A hipster is a firstmover - a person who is in the knowing when it comes to the latest in fashion, food, trends, restaurants, bars and other hangouts in the city. Here is a guide to the most well-known hipster places in Copenhagen.

Hipsters stand out from the crowd - in a good way - often with their clothing or hairstyle. So if you want to be one step ahead and see tomorrow's Copenhagen, you just have to follow in their footsteps.

A good place to spot hipsters in Copenhagen, is in the trendy area of Vesterbro, but also in the Nørrebro area, for an example the street Jægersborggade, in inner city and in the beginning of Amager island.

It is not easy, so we have helped you a little bit by identifying some of the most famous hipster places in the city - but they change constantly.

Acne Archive has opened a 65 square meter outlet on the corner of Elmegade and Egegade in Nørrebro.

Bakken is located on the ground floor in the Meatpacking District, where a patio and coloured lights are making the atmosphere nice and cozy.

Dronning Louise's Bro (Queen Louise's Bridge) connects inner Copenhagen and Nørrebro and is frequented by tons of cyclists and pedestrians every single day. However, the bridge has also become an unusally popular hangout.

Harbo Bar is located in the hip area on Nørrebro and has become a popular hangout for many Copenhageners.

Danish fashion's rebel kid Henrik Vibskov runs a shop in Krystalgade in Copenhagen. Both the decor and collection are designed with the fantasy and originality that characterise Vibskov.

The clothes is trendy yet wearable, and loved by the Copenhagen hipster crowd as well as a growing number of fans abroad.

Jolene is a bar. Not a cocktail venue. At Jolene's you drink your beer from the bottle. Period. Shabby furniture and tattered lamps all contribute to the relaxed, industrial-chic atmosphere in which vibe-thrusting DJs spin their way through the night. Now and then live rock bands take over.

Kalaset offers vintage charm, hot chocolate with marshmellows and a vegetarian brunch.

Kihoskh is a modern grocery store with a wide selection of groceries, specialties and organic products.

Cozy and intimate coffee shop near Amagerbro Metro.
