Grib Forrest is one of the largest forrests in Denmark. It covers an area of 5500 ha today, but originally it was part of the huge wilderness that covered Northern Zealand. The forrest was used for hunting parties in the old days, and in the 17th century King Christian V made a system of roads and paths through the forrest. Since it was mainly used for hunting nobody took care of the trees and wildlife. That has changed through the years, and today the nature is very well cared for.
