Frederiksberg

Frederiksberg is the fashionable part of Copenhagen with excellent shopping opportunities and green spaces. 

Main street through Frederiksberg is Gammel Kongevej. Kings Road, as it was known, was build way back in 1620s, and although the story is still visible in the district's buildings, many elderly boutiques are replaced by clothes shops, sushi restaurants, cafes, organic supermarkets and deli's.

Frederiksberg is also a green oasis with Frederiksberg Gardens, the romantic Garden of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Søndermarken.

5 February 2013 Copenhagen Zoo's new and unique facilities for polar bears, North Atlantic birds and seals, The Arctic Ring, opened.

The Copenhagen Zoo has more than 3000 animals from around the world and a total of 264 different species. The elefants live in a state of the art elephant house, and the giraffes and hippos have also gotten new accommodation recently.
