Fjord Country

Explore the sights and nature of the Fjord Country in North Zealand. Here you can visit the Frederikssund Viking Settlement where you can see how the Danish forefathers lived.

In addition to the museum at the medieval Jægerspris Castle, you can also visit the adjacent forest where you will find The Royal Oak, which is probably the oldest tree in Northern Europe with an estimated age of 1500-2000 years.

The Viking plays in Frederikssund ›

Every summer at the end of June and the start of July it is viking time in Frederikssund, west of Copenhagen.

More than 150 adults and children jump in their viking costumes, and every night the city's beautifull open air scene forms the frame around a play that recreates the color, people and drama of the viking age.

Located by the fjord in Roskilde, a mere 35 minutes from Copenhagen, the Viking Ship Museum offers a unique experience to adults and children alike.

Discover the impressive collection of Viking ships and other Nordic boats in the museum's beautiful harbour, and during the summer season you will find a long list of activities and exhibitions.
