Fjord Country

The Viking Village in Frederikssund gives you the opportunity to see a viking settlement and experience how the viking lived and worked.

Medieval castle, rebuilt and extended in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Here you can see the memorial rooms to King Frederik VII and his wife Countess Danner, the Orphanage history department, exhibition of ancient Danish gold besides annual special exhibitions.

Every summer at the end of June and the start of July it is viking time in Frederikssund, west of Copenhagen.

More than 150 adults and children jump in their viking costumes, and every night the city's beautifull open air scene forms the frame around a play that recreates the color, people and drama of the viking age.

Located by the fjord in Roskilde, a mere 35 minutes from Copenhagen, the Viking Ship Museum offers a unique experience to adults and children alike.
