Autumn break

Autumn break in Copenhagen is true to tradition kicked off with the Night of Culture, which in 2012 falls on 12 October. In the following two weeks Copenhagen's new autumn event Wonderfall presents lots of activities for children and their adults.

In 2012 Copenhagen introduces a brand new autumn event. Wonderfall Copenhagen has gathered all of Copenhagen's famous and well-established autumn events, and of course invented some new fun ones for the entire family.

The Night of Culture is a real favorite among Copenhageners, and true to tradition it kicks off the autumn break, Friday 12 October, with hundreds of unique events for all ages.

The capital city’s many attractions and museums, both in the city centre and in the surrounding area, put emphasis on children during the break, and many have even extended their opening hours. Visit for example Experimentarium, The National Museum, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Denmark, the Zoo and Tivoli Gardens.

Come to the Kingdom of Denmark, and relive the story of love and madness, idealism and intrigue, set forth in the film A Royal Affair, in a guided city walk.

Meet the brilliantly bizzare young King Christian 7 and his young Queen Caroline Mathilde, and see the 18th century Danish court through the eyes of their physician Johan Friedrich Struensee.

Experience the knights fight and check out the medieval market at The Royal Danish Arsenal Museum on Slotsholmen.

Go on an evening walk in Østre Anlæg and listen to interesting and spooky stories about the things that used to scare people the most.
