He put his mark on the city - physically as well as spiritually. Kierkegaard walked the streets of Copenhagen and his promenades are world famous.

Carlsberg City is a small area in Vesterbro in Copenhagen, bordering to the Valby district. The area is named after Carlsberg the beer, which was brewed on the premises from 1847 - 2008, when the production was moved to Jutland. However the visitor centre Visit Carlsberg and Jacobsen House Brewery, which produces special brews, are still located here.

Denmark’s Prime Minister and acting EU chairman, Helle Thorning-Schmidt and Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik will give the world’s toughest road cycling race a royal send-off when Giro d’Italia 2012 starts in Denmark 5-7 May. Denmark will celebrate the event with a giant pink party.
