![]() Royal artists set Christmas tables at Royal Copenhagen![]() Every year since 1963 famous Danes have been decorating Christmas tables at the Georg Jensen flagship store...As always, when the curtain goes up on this year's Christmas tables at Royal Copenhagen, the magical, spellbinding displays will be guaranteed to put the whole family in the Christmas mood. Six actors and ballet dancers from the Danish Royal Theatre will be giving their own personal interpretations of the many different dances that make up Hoffmann's classical fairytale ballet ‘The Nutcracker', which is set on Christmas Eve. ‘The Nutcracker', one of the world's best-known ballets, is famous for its portrayal of the dream world of a young girl, Clara, in all manner of fabulous dances. Striped candy clowns; toys that come alive; bold Cossacks; menacing mice; and an icily beautiful snow queen are just some of the characters in this fairytale dream of a ballet, which provides the inspiration for Royal Copenhagen's Christmas tables this year. Each table will represent one of the ballet's many dances which, together with Royal Copenhagen's legendary porcelain, will be given a new dimension. Admission to the Christmas tables is free, and they will be on display at Royal Copenhagen's flagship store at Amagertorv 6, 'Strøget', 1160 Copenhagen K, from 20 November to 31 December 2009.
