As it draws to a close, 2006 is looking like another excellent convention year for Copenhagen. International congresses alone have brought more than 70,000 delegates to the Danish capital.

Copenhagen has long been a popular convention destination and 2006 looks like being one of the city's top five best convention years ever. The city has hosted a number of international congresses in 2006, among the most prestigious of which were the Rotary International Convention, which drew 14,500 delegates in June, and EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes), which attracted close to 14,000 participants. Also in June several of the worlds leading CEOs gathered in Copenhagen to participate in the exclusive Forbes CEO Forum conference. In total the city has hosted more than 80 international conventions in 2006.
