Denmark is known across the world for its tolerance and acceptance of diversity, showcased by its host status for the international World Outgames event.
Denmark has been a pioneer in homosexual rights several times in history - among other issues in being the first country to allow same-sex civil unions.
By hosting The World Outgames, Denmark has taken a leading role again to battle for homosexual rights across the globe in hosting the hitherto most extensive human rights conference focusing on the importance and necessity of equal treatment and equal rights for all, irrespective of gender or sexuality.
