In Copenhagen the stores are allowed to be open every Sunday from October 2012. The Danish government has secured a liberalisation of the socalled Danish Shop Law, that requires shops to close on Sundays.
From 2012 the Shop Law will be replaced by a Holy Days Law, meaning shops will only have to close for religious holidays. Restrictions will be eased from July 2011, when shops can open the first and last Sunday of every month, every Sunday in December and four other Sundays of their choice. In 2012 the shops will be open:
Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 18:00
Friday 10:00 - 19:00
Saturday 10:00 - 16:00
First and last Sunday of the month 12:00 - 16:00
Department stores and supermarkets usually stay open longer. Outside ordinary shopping hours various kiosks are open for sale of tobacco, newspapers and sweets. Bakeries, florists and souvenir shops are usually open every day of the week, including Sundays.
Office hours are Monday - Friday 09:00 - 16:00/16:30.
