Blaat billedeAs most of Copenhagen's excellent cafés serve alcohol, regular bars are not as common as in other cities. The traditional Danish pub is known as a bodega, and you will find these cosy local bars, often in basements, across the city.

Ideal Bar

In complete contrast, recent years have seen several cool and stylish bars open, perfect for pre-club drinks or a lively evening. The Ideal Bar of the Vega night club complex is a good example, Stereo Bar another. In both you will find a fashionable, young Copenhagen crowd.

Vesterbro also has plenty to offer a young crowd, including Bang and Jensen, a café housed in a converted pharmacy.

Cocktails and home brewed beer

Oak Room on Egegade in the district of Nørrebro is one of the hot cocktail bars. Well known classical cocktails are mixed in new ways. Try a Mango Mojito or a Slutty Mary. In the same district is Nørrebro Bryghus, one of the many, many micro breweries that have opened in recent years. This particular one is located in an old metalworks from 1857. The main focus is on beer. The staff knows all about the beers they serve and volunteer information on the variety of choices, including the process behind each brew.

Exclusivity

Exclusive Bar Rouge is the hotel bar of the five star Sankt Petri Hotel.  Here guests can mingle while listening to smooth lounge music surrounded by super design furniture and colours.
