Some are world-famous, others less known. Some stand majestic in the streets, on squares and in parks, others are hidden inside museums. Copenhagen is full of statues and sculptures, of Danish kings and historic figures. The most photographed statue is without a doubt The Little Mermaid at Langelinie. The fairytale of her was written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, who himself is portrayed on busy City Hall Square and in the King’s Garden. The statue of Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, however, is hidden in the Royal Library Garden.
