Copenhagen on a budget

If you want to squeeze as much as possible out of your visit to Copenhagen, we have selected some great affordable places and free attractions. The National Museum and The National Gallery of Denmark has free admission to the museum’s permanent exhibitions and selected special exhibitions. You can also hop on a sightseeing boat and experience the beauty of the city and most of the top sights from the water.

If the weather allows it, a picnic is a good way to save money on dining. Pick something up from the supermarkets and find a nice place in one of Copenhagen’s many gardens and parks, for example King’s Garden or Frederiksberg Gardens. You can also check out our Top 10 guide to value for money restaurants or if you are into a big juicy burger, you can check out our guide to the best burgers in Copenhagen.

Remember the Copenhagen Card that gives you free admission to 72 museums and attractions, free public transport by bus, train and Metro and discounts on restaurants, rentals and sights. You can also bring along two children under 10 for free.
