Opening hours

Since the liberalisation of the socalled Danish closing hour law 1 October 2012, the shops in Copenhagen are allowed to stay open every Sunday and longer on Saturdays and weekdays.

Opening hours vary though, and department stores and supermarkets usually stay open longer. Outside ordinary shopping hours various kiosks are open for sale of tobacco, newspapers and sweets etc. Bakeries, florists and souvenir shops are usually open seven days a week.

These are the most common opening hours:

Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 18:00
Friday 10:00 - 19:00
Saturday 10:00 - 16:00
Sunday 12:00 - 16:00
