WELCOME TO ARKEN

Only 20 kilometres south of Copenhagen lies ARKEN, Denmark’s newest museum of modern art.
Søren Robert Lund is the architect behind the distinctive building, which rises on the water’s edge in Køge Bay Beach Park.

Every year ARKEN puts on 7 or 8 different exhibitions of modern Danish, Nordic and international art.
ARKEN’s own collection consists mainly of contemporary art. The collection is permanently exhibited in the museum.

TRANSPORT

By train to ARKEN:
Take the S-train, line A or E, to Ishøj Station. From the station bus 128 runs directly to the museum.

By car to ARKEN:
From Copenhagen you take the E20 to exit 26 to Ishøj Strand. By car from South or North West Zealand you take the encircling highway O4 to exit 6 to Ishøj Strand.
