Jul - skøjteløbIn Copenhagen you can ice skate at the city's many public outdoor ice rinks. Bring your own skates or rent.

The public outdoor ice rinks are usually open from December to February. To be sure, it is a good idea to check the websites before going.

Frederiksberg Runddel's ice rink 

The ice rink is open 27 November 2009 - 28 February 2010. If you bring your own skates, you can use the ice rink free of charge at all hours. You can also rent skates at DKK 45 during daytime.

In November and December the skate rental is open weekdays at 11:00 - 21:00, Saturdays 10:00 - 21:00, Sundays 12:00 - 21:00. However, 24 and 31 December 10:00 - 16:00.

Im January and February the skate rental is open 11:00 - 19:00, Saturdays 10:00 - 20:00 and Sundays 12:00 - 20:00. 15 - 21 February 2010 it is open 10:00 - 21:00 because of the Danish school Winter holidays. You can rent skates up until one hour before closing time.

Lindevangsparken's CO2-friendly ice rink 

You can use the new CO2-friendly ice rink free of charge around the clock. The ice rink is made of wax, not water. It is open 27 November 2009 - 28 February 2010. There is no skate rental, so bring your own skates.

Par på Kongens Nytorv ved skøjtebanenBlågårds Plads' ice rink 

The ice rink is open around the clock 13 December 2009 - 1 March 2010 and is free to use. The skate rental is open during daytime. It costs DKK 40 per hour to rent skates, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Genforeningspladsen's ice rink 

The ice rink is open around the clock from 28 November 2009 - 28 February 2010, every day 10:00 - 22:00. It costs DKK 40 to rent skates, and the skate rental is open until 19:00. Bring your own skates if you like.

Elsinore CO2-friendly ice rink  

The ice rink at Elsinore (Helsingør) Christmas market, north of Copenhagen, is open 27 November - 23 December 2009, weekdays 11:00 - 18:00, Saturdays 10:00 - 17:00, Sundays 11:00 - 17:00. Admission is free, and you can rent skates at DKK 30 per hour. Feel free to bring your own skates instead.

The ice rink is CO2-friendly as no water or energy is used. For the same reason it is open regardless of the weather.

Havnegade ice rinkJul - kgs nytorv  

The new ice rink in Havnegade near Nyhavn is open from 4 December 2009 - 1 March 2010. Access to the ice rink is free, and you can rent skates at DKK 45 per hour, Monday - Friday 11:00 - 22:00 and Saturday - Sunday 10:00 - 22:00.

The new ice rink replaces the ice rink at Kongens Nytorv square due to the construction of a new Metro line.
