Copenhagen landmark
A very characteristic building in the old part of Copenhagen is the Round Tower built during the reign of King Christian IV. It had a triple purpose: it was the tower of the Trinity Church, it had an observatory at the top floor and halfway up to the top is the entrance to the old university library, which was placed above the Trinity Church.
The Hall above the Trinity church
The library hall, above the vaults of the Church of Trinitatis, was used as a university library in the years 1657 - 1861. In 1987, the hall was reopened after a thorough restoration, and the 900 m2 of the room now serve as the framework for changing exhibitions of art, culture, history and science. Every year you can listen to around 100 concerts in the library hall.
Perfect place for intimate concerts
The surroundings are ideal for intimate concerts such as guitar solo recitals, and every year a Guitar Festival takes place here. Otherwise piano concerts and chamber music ensembles perform. The repertoire extends from Medieval - to the latest contemporary, rhythmic music.
