The Royal Library
The Queen's Hall is the Royal Library's largest conference room seating up to 600 people.
Multipurpose
The hall is equiped with a video projector, film screen and up-to-date audio-visual aids and is serviced by the library's own technicians. It is also used for music purposes, primarily intended for chamber music, but also various forms of rhythmic music - e.g. jazz.
Acoustics
In order to meet these needs the concert hall is equipped with a variable acoustic system that adapts to the specific kind of music. Thereby the sound is adjustable to greater sonorousness, with a longer reveberation for classical music - or a 'drier' sound (short reveberation) for clarity of speech in lectures, meetings or video presentations. The 'drier' acoustics are also used for concerts of rhythmic music.
