Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks of the world and the park consequently exudes tradition and history. However, innovation blossoms everywhere like the floral splendour of the garden. Tivoli is always in progress and thus the garden is used as much by local Copenhageners as by tourists. The fairytale garden is to this day a vibrant meeting place, where young concert goers, families with children, business men lunching and elderly couples strolling all gather in the picturesque, elegant and atmospheric garden.

Nostalgia and fireworks

In Tivoli you can try out the harrowing Deamon rollercoaster or take a trip in the small boats at a more leisurely pace. Tivoli has succeeded in delicately compromising between hair-raising, modern rides and memory evoking classics such as the beautiful carrousel. You can power ahead with the multi-ride ticket, which allows you to use the rides as much as you wish to. Nevertheless, just strolling through the lit garden is for many the most unique and - for Danes at least - nostalgic experience. When you walk well-fed though the garden, fireworks atop, and hear the drone from the rock stage and smell the ice cream cones fresh from the oven you know that it is truly summer in Copenhagen. However, when the calendar dictates Halloween and Christmas the garden changes character and suddenly Tivoli becomes the perfect holiday outing with everything from pumpkin heads to Christmas candles.
