It has always been easy to take your bicycle with you on the S-trains in Copenhagen, but now it will not only be easy. It will also not cost you a thing.

From 15 January 2010 you no longer need to buy a bicycle ticket, which previously cost DKK 12, but you can bring your bike on the trains for absolutely free. The Offer will be valid for the rest of 2010.

DSB billetautomat"Flexibility has been the focal point when we made the offer. For example, if you are going to Copenhagen Zoo, it would be ideal for you to take the train to Valby train station and then ride your bicyle from there," says sales director at S-train Niklas Marschall.

S-train promises that the offer is only the first in a row of deals during 2010. There are thus more bargains to look forward to.

The rules for bringing bicycles on the train remain the same. This means that bicycles are not allowed on Nørreport train station during rush hour, from 07:00 - 08:30 and 15:30 - 17:00.

Bicycles should be placed in the trains' so-called flex rooms, marked with a white bicycle. Needless to say, you still have to purchase a ticket for yourself.
